Certainly the performing career of Kari Michaelsen is the antitheses of the plea of all young entertainers to “Give me a Break.”  This was ironically the title of the NBC hit series “Gimme A Break” which brought her fame and made her an elite member of the young Hollywood “celebrities” that emerged in the 1980’s.  Her television, film and theater credits account for an impressive list of accomplishments any actress would be proud of.  “Gimme a Break” finally wrapped after six successful seasons.

 

Kari continued performing, but also felt it was extremely important to continue her education. True to her independent and spirited nature, Kari focused part of her education towards learning more about “business” and “marketing.” This was the next step in her quest to empower herself as a business woman, to become a successful entrepreneur.

Kari has been public speaking and hosting educational seminars since 1990. Combining those skills with her years of experience in front of the camera seemed natural (and somewhat destined) as the next step after her Television series “Gimme a Break” wrapped .Thus, her career in broadcasting was born. Some of her broadcasting credits include hosting a morning talk show, a news magazine show, and the weekly interview show “In the Spotlight.” Kari says, “After six seasons on "Gimme a Break" I went searching for a deeper sense of purpose in my work. Over the years, I’ve been inspired by many powerful people. After a few interviews I had the privilege to do with some very influential people, it became clear to me that my broadcasting career would become one of the most powerful vehicles for me to have the opportunity to "contribute" and really connect with people."

Kari, originally from New York, now lives in beautiful Southern California, where she also has her company Michaelsen Enterprises.
